The 2010 sprint car season is defiantly underway. With the thrilling action already taking place in parts of Florida, California, Texas, and other warm destinations, Jerrod Hull Motorsports has been busy working on what could be the team’s finest season. Armed with high hopes and Hull’s third consecutive Midwest All Star Series title under his belt, the race in on for a fourth title.
First up for the successful Missouri native is to defend his 2009 Bootheel 200 victory with the USCS at Malden, Missouri on March 19th and 20th. The battle for last year’s Bootheel title was a very emotional one for the team. Hull, coming off of a scary accident at the 2008 Queen’s Royal, where the car ignited in flames and left Jerrod with multiple burns and torn ligaments, put on a clinic battling top USCS contenders like Terry Gray and Marshall Skinner in the feature. The night had started off a little rough as Hull’s motor soured while enjoying a large lead in his heat race, forcing the famous #12 to pull in early and starting the night’s feature at the tail of the field.
Jerrod recall’s the 2009 edition: “Last year’s Bootheel 200 has got to be one of the most memorable wins of my career,” noted Hull. “It was one of those wins that you could only dream of after all of the struggles we had. The team really bound together and did what it took to get me back into the race, what happened next was one heck of a ride.”
The team plans to put some new products to the test at Malden. During the offseason, Hull made what he thinks are some strategic equipment changes to his operation. The additions of Ti22, Brown and Miller Racing Solutions, and SuperShox will be added to the already stout Maxim Chassis. The changes made in 2009 of switching to K&N Filters and Champion Brand Oil will remain a staple of the team’s arsenal of equipment.
“Our Product Support Campaign continues to grow for us. I can’t thank these fine manufacturers enough for their support in our success,” added Jerrod. “We really feel that the changes we made will be a difference maker for us as we continue to run the same type of schedule our fans have come to expect including a run for a 4th Midwest All Star Championship.”
This year the Jerrod Hull Motorsports machine will be sponsored heavily by Heartland Trailer Sales. The Heartland Trailer Manufacturing #12 Maxim will “Take Flight in White” in 2010. Chris King of CK Graffix was the mastermind and the artist behind this year’s look and utilized his 13 years of work to the best of his abilities. The new look will feature a primarily white car with black draping the bottom edge of the chassis and center wing dishes.
“We started with some wild designs and didn’t really like them,” stated Chris King of CK Graffix. “Jerrod wanted something that made the advertisers standout more than anything so I basically took the Heartland Trailer logo and built everything around it. What we ended up with was a nice flow for the entire car that delivers what Jerrod was looking for.
Advertisers for the team will be the before mentioned Heartland Trailer Manufacturing, Midland Performance, Lighthouse Christian Center, Axis Products, Webb Racing, Red Brick Transportation, and Got Dirt? Racing Promotions. The team’s Product Supporters are Champion Brand Oil, K&N Filters, Hepfner Racing Products, Ti22, Brown and Miller Racing Solutions, Simpson, Weld, Maxim, Hoosier Tires, Supershox, and Automotive Machine. The team will be lead by veteran Crew Chief Scott Bonar and include Colten Fraise and Christopher Hull. Hull looks forward to many of his friends and fans helping out throughout the season, many of whom have already labored hours in preparation.
About his team Hull commented, “My team changes at times from week to week depending on where we are at. I have many friends that help out at different locations or when they are available and are very thankful for their help and support. Having Scott as my Crew Chief is the reason why personnel can change but we continue to be consistent, he really is a great leader for this team.”
Also new for Jerrod Hull Motorsports is a Facebook group page dedicated to his fans. This year marks the 5th anniversary of Hull naming his loyal followers, Hullheads. The nick-name for the fans came during a brainstorm session where the team was looking for a way to collectively describe his loyalist of fans. The Facebook page is set-up so fans can contribute well wishes, photos, and discuss all things Jerrod Hull. The page will also feature up to date results for the team, schedule changes, and press releases. Hull plans to use the page as an extension of his already successful website; www.jerrodhullmotorsports.com. Stay up to date by visiting either site today!
