BLOOMINGTON, Ind., Tuesday, June 8, 2010 – Just as it brings a cooling off to most sports in Indiana, the month of June brings heat into the championship points races at Bloomington Speedway.
And no place can a point race be hotter than in the Tire & Wheel Center UMP Super Stocks where Paragon, Ind.’s Steve Peeden and Mitchell, Ind.’s Lee Hobbs enter June 11th Kiva Night at Bloominton Speedway tied in the championship. Sitting just three points behind Peeden and Hobbs in third place is Brad Cummings, from Bedford, Ind., with 210 points.
Joining the Tire & Wheel Center UMP Super Stocks on Kiva night are Bloomington Speedway’s two other regular classes – the Grimes Pools & Spas Sprint Cars and the O’Neal Wood Products UMP Modifieds.
Jeff Bland, Jr., from Springville, Ind., holds a seven-point lead over Dickie Gaines, from Mitchell, Ind. Bland has 226 points to Gaines’ 219, while Bloomington’s Jon Sciscoe is third with 207.
Bloomington’s Clint DeMoss has the most comfortable points lead with his 31-point margin over another Bloomington driver, Bradley Sterrett, in the O’Neal Wood Products UMP Modifieds.
Spectator gates open at 5:30 p.m., hot laps are at 6:30 with racing beginning at 7:30. General admission is $12 for adults, and kids under 12 are always FREE general admission at Bloomington Speedway with a general admission paying adult.
