From Pete Walton
Atlanta, GA – Due to my own personal reasons and circumstances beyond our control. The USCS Asphalt Thunder Tour event scheduled for this weekend on Saturday, June 26th at Watermelon Capital Speedway has been cancelled”, stated USCS President, Pete Walton. “This in no way effects the later date at Watermelon Capital” said Walton.
“We apologize for any inconvenience that this may cause anyone. We are presently negotiating several additional dates that will be added to the Asphalt Thunder schedule in the very near future” concluded the series Founder.
The next four USCS presented by Goodyear events are on dirt and scheduled over the Independence Day Holiday weekend. The “Firecracker 500” weekend for the USCS Outlaw Thunder Tour winged sprint cars begins on Thursday, July 1st at Riverside Speedway in West Memphis, Arkansas then moves to Malden Speedway in Malden, Missouri on Friday, July 2nd. The following night the series moves over to Thunderhill Raceway in Summertown, Tennessee before concluding the Holiday weekend racing action at Camden Speedway in Camden, Tennessee on Sunday, July 4th.
All four events feature a USCS double-header that includes the USCS Modified Touring Series open wheel modified series. Each sprint car feature pays $2000 to win and the USCS Modifieds pay $1000 to win each night. The sprint car events will award USCS Mid-South Thunder regional points and national points.
