HARTFORD, S.D. (July 23, 2010) – Jake Peters offered up more evidence that trailers don’t win races, as he topped Friday night’s 25-lap American Sprint Car Series Midwest main event at I-90 Speedway.
Working off a rare open trailer in today’s Sprint Car world, Peters gunned into the lead from the pole position at the drop of the green flag and led all the way to post his sixth career overall ASCS feature win.
Peters caught some timely cautions to stay out of traffic, beating eighth-starter Clint Garner to the checkered flag. Current ASCS Midwest points leader Eric Lutz claimed the show position, with 11th-starter Bryan Dobesh and Dusty Ballenger rounding out the top five.
Lane Brenden climbed from 13th to sixth, with 19th-starter Dylan Peterson, Donovan Peterson, Lee Grosz and Ricky Maiolo completing the top ten.
Donovan Peterson, Maiolo and Grosz topped heat race action, with Mitch Runge winning the “B” Main.
