MECHANICSBURG, PA — Aaron Ott won the 25-lap 360-sprint car feature and Gary Stuhler won the late model feature Thursday night at Williams Grove Speedway. The Ollie’s Bargain Outlet Battle at the Grove was a benefit event with net proceeds going to the Kasey Kahne Foundation and featured NASCAR stars Kasey Kahne and Tony Stewart competing in the sprint car portion of the program with Kyle Busch racing a late model. Curt Michael took the lead at the start of the sprint car feature with Pat Cannon and Daryn Pittman in tow. Ott, who started sixth, moved into fourth place on the second lap. Cannon pressured Michael throughout the first half of the race, but couldn’t make the pass. Ott became a factor on lap 12 when he passed Pittman. The next time around he drove by both Cannon and Michael through turns three and four to take the lead. Once in front Ott, 18, of East Berlin, rolled to a comfortable margin of victory over Cannon, who took second place from Michael on lap 15. Pittman was third with Michael fourth and Mark Smith fifth followed by Gerard McIntyre, Jr., Blane Heimbach, Alan Krimes and Kramer Williamson. Kasey Kahne, who started 20th, took tenth place from Tony Stewart in the closing stages. Daryn Pittman set fast time with a lap of 18.587. Heats for the 42 sprint cars went to Ott, Heimbach, Trevor Lewis and Stewart. The B-main was won by McIntyre and Heimbach won the dash. Stuhler rolled to his second late model win of the season at Williams Grove after starting fifth and taking the lead from D. J. Myers on lap seven. Scott LeBarron got by Myers on lap 16 and went on to finish second. Myers, Jeremy Miller and Jason Covert completed the top five ahead of Jim Yoder, Tyler Hershey, Tyler Armstrong, Devin Friese and Jeff Rine. Kyle Busch finished eleventh.
