David Cardey of Riverside, Calif. will be trying to accomplish what no driver has been able to do at Perris (Calif.) Auto Speedway since the formation of the AMSOIL USAC/CRA Sprint Car Series when the series returns to the half-mile dirt oval this Saturday night.
Cardey is on a four-race winning streak at The PAS, which ties what Tony Jones accomplished in 2008. Cardey sits eighth in the series points entering Saturday’s race. Nobody has been able to string together five straight Perris wins since the series began in 2004.
Mike Spencer, a 10-time winner at Perris, leads Danny Sheridan by 80 points in the latest standings. Spencer has been either first or second in five of his six 2010 starts at the Perris oval.
