Balog Bags IRA’s Northern Nationals

He’s been strong there in the past – including a runner-up to Terry McCarl in last year’s Northern Nationals at Superior Speedway in Superior, Wisconsin – but Bill Balog was not to be denied this year. Balog struggled a bit in his heat race and started ninth in the A-main but wasted little time working his way forward before passing Steve Meyer following a lap 16 caution flag. It was Balog’s sixth IRA win of the 2010 season.

Daggett Crowned King of Michigan

For the sixth time in his career Dustin Daggett was crowned King of Michigan at Hartford Motor Speedway during the Engine Pro ASCS Sprints on Dirt presented by ARP Friday. Daggett moved up from his seventh starting spot to take the lead from Gregg Dalman during a mid race restart and held off a late surge by defending ASCS SOD champion Brett Mann to claim another crown.

Swindell Sails to Win in Opener of Gold Cup, Meyers Takes Point Lead

Sammy Swindell won the Gold Cup Race of Champions at Silver Dollar Speedway for the first time in 1981 and has been trying to win the famed event ever since. The three-time World of Outlaws champion moved one step closer to that goal on Thursday night returning to Victory Lane in the opener of the three-day event to score his first triumph at the ¼-mile bullring since a preliminary feature win in 1996.

Reed Looks to Clinch His First Ever FAST Crown as Season’s End Nears

The final chapter on the 2010 Kistler Racing Products FAST Championship Series presented by SRP Pistons & Engine Pro season will be written on Saturday, September 11th at Fremont Speedway on Season Championship Night.
