SOUTHWEST CONTRACTORS 360 CLASH SHOOTOUT AT HANFORD SATURDAY

The Southwest Contractors 360 Clash Championship will be up for grabs this Saturday, September 11th, at Hanford’s Giant Chevrolet Kings Speedway. The “Jim Turner Memorial” will be the finale for the special four race mini-series featuring the USAC West Coast 360 Sprint Car Series. Joining the powerful Sprint Cars will be the IMCA Stock Cars and Bud Light Mini-Stocks. The Spectator Gates will open at 5:30pm, with Time Trials scheduled for 6:30pm, and racing to follow.

WESTERN PA SPRINT CHAMPIONSHIP SATURDAY AT MERCER

After a week hiatus over the Labor Day Weekend, Mercer Raceway Park roars back to life this Saturday night, September 11 with a blockbuster event featuring the Western PA Sprint Championship presented by Ehrlich Your Local Pest Control Experts and the BRP Modified Tour presented by Rock Concrete along with the 4 Your Car Connection FASTRAK Late Models, Big Daddy’s Speed Center Stock Cars, and the M&D Paving Mini Stocks. All of the marbles are on the line in the final night of points. It’s Anderson Bros. Tool/SK Tool and Yellow Book USA Corporate Nights. Race time is 7 p.m.

Tony Stewart Racing Looking for More Gold in California

In every season there are games that have just a little more juice. Whether it’s the NFL’s season opener pitting the defending Super Bowl-champion New Orleans Saints against the Brett Favre-led Minnesota Vikings, or Saturday’s contest between legendary college Football powers Penn State and Alabama, there’s added adrenaline in the air. In dirt-track racing, the World of Outlaws (WoO) Sprint Car Series stars race 70 nights each season, but only a handful of races can generate that fevered atmosphere. The Knoxville (Iowa) Nationals, Eldora Speedway’s Kings Royal, the Williams Grove National Open, and the Gold Cup Race of Champions annually stand out as the races every Sprint car driver wants to win.

Valley Speedway Prepares for Weld Family Memorial

Valley Speedway has finalized details for the second annual Weld Family Memorial Sprint Car Nationals set for Friday and Saturday September 17 & 18. Like the 2009 inaugural running of the WFN, each night will have complete programs. Different will be the format in general. Both nights will feature non-winged sprint cars with an open engine rule. Sprint cars with a 305 ci, 360 ci or a 410 ci power plant will race together.
