MUSEUM TO HOST “INTRODUCING… DUSTIN SELVAGE” ON THURS., OCTOBER 21, AS PART OF ITS “SPRINT CAR 101” SERIES

From Tom Schmeh

KNOXVILLE, IOWA  (October 6, 2010)  –  The National Sprint Car Museum’s “Sprint Car 101” Third Thursday Series will see a new twist this month as it will present “Introducing… Dustin Selvage”, one of Knoxville Raceway’s new generation of sprint car racers.  The free and open-to-the-public program will be held on the museum’s second floor and it will begin at 7 p.m.  This two-hour program will be the first in a series aimed at sprint car racing’s ‘young guns’, with the Indianola native being the first to be honored.

According to museum executive director Bob Baker, “I have to credit Grant Rankin of the Marion County Fair Association and our own board of directors for this new idea.  Earlier this year, he and I were talking about how the sport needs more young fans and drivers, and Grant suggested that we start offering programs at the museum that will attract the younger generation.  And we are pleased that Knoxville Raceway winged sprint car pilot Dustin Selvage has agreed to be the first on the ‘hot seat’ as we interview him about his path to weekly sprint car racing.”
