SANTA MARIA, CA – DECEMBER 20, 2010… The Awards Banquet for ALL Santa Maria Speedway divisions (Late Model, Sprint, Hobby Stock, Mini Stock, IMCA Modified, Street Stock, Mini Dwarf Sr-Jr, Mini Stock Powder Puff, plus the West Coast Late Models and USAC West Coast 360 Sprint Cars) will be held on Saturday, January 29th at the Santa Maria Elks Lodge.

With sponsorship provided by the United States Auto Club (USAC), Hoosier Tire, Southwest Contractors, Amsoil, and others, Series Promoter Chris Kearns has raised a $20,000 point fund that will be awarded to the top-20 drivers of 2010. Fresno’s Craig Stidham will be formally presented with the championship hardware and the $5,000 first place award.

For finishing second place in the point standings, Kerman’s Davey Pombo will be awarded the runner-up place checks and accolades. Fresno’s T.J. Smith will take home the third place award, plus the Santa Maria Sprint Car track championship honors. San Diego’s Chris Ennis will be presented with the Rookie of the Year award and eleventh place honors.

In addition to the championship awards, a special drawing will be held for a new set of Integra Racing Shocks. Drivers that are eligible for the drawing are Craig Stidham, Davey Pombo, T.J. Smith, Justyne Hamblin, and Geoffrey Strole. The five drivers competed in every point race of the 2010 campaign.

Among the other Santa Maria Speedway Track Champions to be honored are: Mike Johnson (Late Models), Michael Frazier (Hobby Stocks), Rob Gilbertson (Mini Stocks), Doug Thornton (IMCA Modifieds), Tim Randolph (Street Stocks), Roy Maynard (Senior Mini Dwarfs), Tristan Ung (Junior Mini Dwarfs), Terri Guzman (Mini Stock Powder Puffs) and Mike Kirby (West Coast Late Models).

The 2011 USAC West Coast 360 Sprint Car Series Schedule has been released. The series will start their campaign at Hanford’s Giant Chevrolet Speedway on March 25th. The following night, the group will travel to Tulare’s Groppetti Automotive Thunderbowl Raceway. Both events will be a showcase with the famed World of Outlaw Sprint Cars.
