ICE STORM POSTPONES “SALUTE TO BOB TROSTLE” UNTIL FEBRUARY 18
Today’s winter ice storm in Knoxville, which is forecast to last until 6 a.m. tomorrow, has forced the National Sprint Car Hall of Fame & Museum to postpone Thursday night’s planned “Salute to Bob Trostle” reception until the next available date in the “Sprint Car 101” Third Thursday Series, which is February 18.

Wednesdays with Wayne – On the Podium Already in Australia!
You need a combination of luck and a good car to finish on top at the Chili Bowl. For Wayne Johnson, the missing part of the formula was luck. A series of maladies saw him finish back in the C main on Saturday night. After finishing third in a strong field this morning in Australia’s President’s Cup, however, he is looking forward to the rest of the week driving for Brett Smith in the #USA39.

Super Shox Show Well at the Chili Bowl
Four Chili Bowl racers with Super Shox finish in the top 15. Topping the list is Kevin Swindell with the win and Sammy who finished in third after a thrilling drive from last in 30 laps. Mike Hess who started in 22nd raced his way to 7th by passing high and low and Daniel Adler finished in 15th after starting 21st.

EAST COAST CHALLENGE FOR .25 MIDGETS INCORPORATES SIX RACES AT THREE TRACKS
USAC’s .southeastern .25 Midget Series participants will compete in a six-race series to determine this year’s “East Coast Challenge” champion. The six races are slated from May to October.

Tuesdays with TMAC – Charge at the Chili Bowl!
When the dust and the fumes settled on the 2010 Chili Bowl last weekend, the fans knew that Terry McCarl was in the house. After a tough break on his qualifying night, he lined up in the D main and advanced past 30 cars on his way to a ninth place finish in the B. Sunday he jumped on a plane for Australia, where he will compete in the Grand Annual Classic this weekend.

Angell Park Speedway and Badger Midget Auto Racing Association have been engaged in negotiations since October of 2009. Neither party has been able to come to an agreement as to the direction of midget racing at Angell Park.

The 29th running of the Essendon Ford President’s Cup was run and won for the third consecutive time by Brooke Tatnell on Wednesday night, January 20. The battle behind him left nothing to the imagination with young gun James McFadden hanging it all out in an awesome attempt to real in the speedy Tatnell. “AJ” Wayne Johnson rounded out the podium with Robbie Farr hot on his heals ahead of fifth finishing Shane Stewart.
