Tradition of fun and excitement continues at Attica Raceway Park in 2011

ATTICA, Ohio – Attica Raceway Park will continue to live up to its name – “Ohio’s Finest Racing” – with an exciting and entertaining 2011 season which will see some of the best dirt track drivers in the world take on the tough weekly competition.

“Our talented drivers have established Attica Raceway Park as one of the toughest weekly tracks in the country…just ask any of the racers from the touring series that come here. Race fans will certainly get the most of their entertainment dollars this season with 410 winged sprints, UMP late models, 305 sprints and dirt trucks,” said Attica Promoter John Bores.

Once again Attica will be one of the first tracks in the Midwest to kick off the 2011 racing season, with opening night scheduled for Friday, March 25 with a rain date of Saturday, March 26. Columbus Equipment Night will feature the O’Reilly Auto Parts 410 Sprints, UMP late models, and Fremont Fence 305 Sprints.

Attica’s 2011 schedule features four appearances of the O’Reilly Auto Parts All Star Circuit of Champion Sprints. Attica will kick off the All Star’s Ohio Region with the traditional HD Supply Spring Nationals on Friday and Saturday, April 8 and 9 paying $3,000 and $5,000 to win respectively. The late models join the sprints on Friday and the 305 sprints make for an all open-wheel event on Saturday. Attica will kick off the 29th Annual Ohio Sprint Speedweek on Friday, June 17 on Eagle 99/Legends Sports Pub & Grille Night. The All Stars will help Attica wrap up the 2011 season with the traditional Attica Ambush on Baumann Auto Group Night, Saturday, Sept. 3.

The first of 10 events for the Kistler Racing Products Fremont Attica Sprint Title Championship Series will be held on True Value of Woodville/Construction Equipment and Supply Night on April 22. The $3,000-to-win sprint car feature will be complimented with a $3,000-to-win Sunoco American Late Model Series feature.

The World of Outlaw Sprints will take on the tough Attica regulars on Kistler Engines Classic Night, Friday, May 20.

In what is becoming one of the “must-see” events in the Midwest will take place at Attica on Friday, July 15 when “Ohio’s Finest Racing” speedplant plays host to the UMP Late Model Summer Nationals on Central Ohio Farmers Night. Known as the “Hell Tour” some of the best late model drivers in the country travel all over the Midwest, competing in nearly 30 nights of racing in a month.

“We also have a pair of double-header weekends with the FAST series and ALMS and our traditional Burns Electric Mid-Season Championship Night which will have double points,” said Rex LeJeune, Attica’s Director of Operations. “We are also giving our great fans a couple of opportunities to go into the pits and meet the drivers prior to the racing… Kear’s Speed Shop Fan Appreciation Night (July 1) where we run four divisions for just $10 general admission, and Fisher Performance/Merrill Lynch/Scouts Night (April 29).

Attica is also paying tribute to one of its men who helped bring racing back to the fairgrounds – Mark Keegan, a 12-time ARP sprint champion. Kistler Racing Products Presents the Mark Keegan Classic Season Championship Night (double points) on Saturday, Aug. 27.
