KNOXVILLE, IOWA (February 14, 2011) – The National Sprint Car Museum’s “Sprint Car 101” Third Thursday Series will continue on Thursday, February 17, with a “Racing Slide Show with Gary Llewellyn”. The free and open-to-the-public program will be held on the museum’s second floor and it will begin at 7 p.m. This two-hour program will be the year’s second in the educational and entertaining series which is aimed at new-comers to, and veterans of, the sport of sprint car racing.
According to museum curator Tom Schmeh, “We are very excited to be welcoming long-time museum supporter Gary Llewellyn of Melcher-Dallas back with his racing slide show. He gave this presentation many years ago, before we started this Sprint Car 101 Third Thursday Series, and it was very well received. While the majority of his slides were taken at Knoxville Raceway, he has also included a number from other great facilities like Indianapolis and Manzanita. This promises to be another great night for sprint car fans, young and old.”
