Auburn Hills, Mich. — Mopar®, Chrysler Group LLC’s service, parts and customer-care brand, will once again join forces with Hoffman Auto Racing, the most successful team in the history of the USAC National Sprint Car Series, by serving as an associate sponsor providing Mopar powerplants and parts in 2011 for the No. 69 Hoffman Auto Racing Sprint Car driven by Jerry Coons Jr. The Mopar-powered Hoffman team will kick off the season with the 2011 USAC National Sprint Car Series opener on Feb. 17 at Ocala (Fla.) Speedway.

We look forward to another successful campaign in 2011 with the Mopar-powered Hoffman Auto Racing team.”
In its 83rd year of competition, the Hoffman Auto Racing squad has racked up 76 USAC National Sprint Car wins and nine championships. The No. 69 Hoffman car has been powered by a Mopar powerplant since 2004, with Mopar acting as an associate sponsor from 2005–2009. Multiple drivers, including Coons Jr., helped campaign the Mopar-powered No. 69 Hoffman car to the 2004 USAC Sprint Car championship. Coons Jr. also steered the famed No. 69 machine to a solo USAC Sprint Car title in 2008 with the help of Mopar power.

“I’m looking forward to having Mopar back on board,” said Coons Jr., who in addition to his 2008 Sprint Car title seized the 2006 and 2007 USAC Mopar National Midget Series championships while competing with Mopar power. “We’ve won a lot of races and championships with Mopar powerplants. We’re all as focused as ever, and with Mopar coming back it would be a great time to win a championship and bring home Mopar another title.”
