From Craig Dollansky Racing
Up next on the World of Outlaws schedule was a stop in ‘The Lone Star State’ at Royal Purple Raceway on Saturday. In nine starts at the state-of-the-art facility in Baytown, Texas, formerly known as Houston Raceway Park, Dollansky has recorded seven top ten finishes including four in the top five.
After recording a top ten finish the night before in Mississippi, the Big Game Treestands #7 team drove through the night to make it to the 1/4-mile track where twenty other cars prepared for racing. In time trials, Dollansky stopped the clocks at 12.799 seconds, 15th fastest. Starting from fifth in the third heat, the field strung out quickly and the Aggressive Hydraulics Maxim went on to finish 5th.
In the 40-lap A-Main, the Aeroquip backed #7 started fifteenth and used a strong start to rocket up to seventh by just the fourth lap and then take sixth on the next circuit. After a caution on lap 20 was followed by a red flag, a single- file restart was used but didn’t stop ‘The Crowd Pleaser’ from continuing his run to the front has he raced around Danny Lasoski on the highside of turns one and two and came after Jason Sides for third. As laps were winding down, Dollansky closed in on Sides and Jason Meyers until a caution came out with three laps remaining. On the restart, Dollansky piloted the Karavan Trailers sponsored sprinter around Sides but another flip before the lap was complete would erase it. On the final restart, Dollansky ran behind Sides and Meyers but the two made contact on the last lap allowing the #7 to gain one more position and finish 3rd. The results marked the second time in this young season that the Big Game Treestands cars have finished on the podium on the same night.
“We didn’t start the night very well at all but we got a great race team here. Considering where we started it was a great run for this Big Game Treestands team,” commented Dollansky who earned the KSE Hard Charger Award by passing twelve cars. “Sammy did a great job winning and for us to come from where we started it was a great run for everyone involved from Big Game, Karavan Trailers, Aggressive Hydraulics and we’ve got Aeroquip onboard now. My crew of DJ, Luke, and Troy are awesome, they just keep digging and working hard. They didn’t get much sleep last night but it was pretty rewarding tonight. I sure hated to see that last red because we were coming pretty good before that and we lined up single file for the restart but it was a great run.”
The Big Game Treestands #7 team returns to racing this coming Wednesday and Thursday, March 2nd & 3rd, from The Dirt Track at Las Vegas Motor Speedway in Las Vegas, Nevada.
