SYRACUSE, NY – The waiving of the first green flag for the 29th season of the Lucas Oil Empire Super Sprints (ESS) is just a month away and competitors will be pleased to find out that the Cobra Coaches Dash Series will see an increased point fund payout for this year. The top five in dash series points will share from a record amount which is 25% larger than last season.
This marks the third year in a row that Chuck Hebing and his Cobra Coaches business has backed the point fund for ESS and is glad to increase his involvement for 2011. During each ESS full point event, a special four lap dash for cash is held with points being awarded for each event, the top five in points at season’s end will split up the lucrative pot of gold.
“The sponsoring of the dash series has been good for both the club and also my business. I have made several contacts since I started the sponsorship and for 2011 I’m very happy to boost the point fund.” said the craftsman simply known as the “Cobra”. “Now I just have to run a little better to see if I can get some of my money back!”
Steve Poirier has won both dash series point funds since Hebing has sponsored the series. Poirier took home the most money and also a special “snake skinned” gift from the Cobra each year at the annual awards banquet. Ironically, Poirier was also Hebing’s last client has he just took delivery of a new custom designed hauler from Cobra Coaches.
Hebing’s Wilkins RV Center, Roush-Yates powered Maxim was recently on display at the Motorsports Expo in Syracuse, NY and this weekend it will appear at the Eastview Mall in Rochester, NY as a part of the Canandaigua Motorsports Park show. The Lucas Oil ESS tour will make its return to the Jeremie Corcoran promoted half-mile for the first time since 2006 in a night sponsored by Cobra Coaches and Wilkins RV Center. The event will be on August 13th as a part of NASCAR weekend at Watkins Glen.
