Indianapolis, IN — The USAC Eastern Ford Focus and Focus Young Guns schedules grew by four races each with the announcement that East Lincoln Speedway in Stanley, N.C. will host four “doubleheaders” this season.
The dates at the 3/8-mile red clay oval are Saturday July 16, Monday July 25, Saturday July 30 and Monday August 15. The Saturday events will be joined by existing East Lincoln race classes, while the track is seeking an additional class to compete on Mondays.
“Our Ford Focus operations continue to grow and this expansion will strengthen an already-solid slate of events for participants in the East,” says USAC Developmental Series Director James Spink.
East Lincoln hosted its first race in 1991 and spearheaded by track owners Ray Evernham and local businessman Bob Mack, the track has developed a loyal fan base. The presence of these events on USAC’s website adds a further dimension to the track’s operations.
A test day has been scheduled on Thursday, July 14 and track manager Adam Keisler has arranged for “Eastern Dirt Series” trophies for winners of both classes at each event.
USAC’s only previous appearance at East Lincoln produced a victory for Robbie Ray in a June, 2005 Ford Focus feature. The 2011 events will mark the debut of Focus Young Guns competition at the track.
