The brand-new USAC DMA Midget Series will resume June 18 at Bear Ridge Speedway in Bradford, Vt. and Joe Krawiec of Bristol. Conn. will lead the series into that event after winning the opener last Saturday night.
Krawiec piloted Skip Matczak’s Seals-It sponsored Midget to victory in the first race of the new USAC Dirt Midget Association. With just three laps remaining, Krawiec took the lead from former Bear Ridge Coupe Champion Kevin Chaffee of Fairlee, VT, who was making his first start in a Midget.
Chaffee finished second ahead of Dana Shaw, Jim Close and Ray Miller. The result is that Krawiec enjoys a three-point lead over Chaffee.
