Port Royal – Port Royal Speedway will present The Living Legends Dream Race for 410 sprint cars on Saturday, August 6 at 7:30 PM, honoring two of the most iconic men in Port Royal sprint car racing history.
Honored will be the all time winningest driver in track history, Keith Kauffman of Mifflintown. Kauffman just won the 129th main of his Port career in early June and has piled up some 13 track titles at the oval since beginning his prolific career in the 1970’s.
And just as synonymous with Port Royal as the name Kauffman is that of Walt Dyer, decades-long owner of the famed brickmobile No. 461 sprint car piloted at the track by the likes of Lance Dewease, Joey Allen, Paul Lotier and so many more.
Kauffman and Dyer will be honored in the 40-lap Living Legends Dream Race that will pay a minimum of $12,000 to win.
Time trials will set the field for the night’s events. Numerous contingency prizes for drivers will be up for grabs as well.
Previous winners of the Port Royal Dream race have been: Sean Michael, 2007; Greg Hodnett, 2008; Cody Darrah, 2009; and Chad Layton, 2010.
Numerous details about the race itself and special promotions meant to honor Kauffman and Dyer are currently being ironed out with release of the information forthcoming.
Port Royal Speedway will be the only oval in the mid-state hosting the powerful 410 sprint cars on August 6 as a conjoined effort with Lincoln Speedway will allow the best in the business to get their chance at living the Port Royal Dream!
