SELINSGROVE, Pa. – Blane Heimbach of Selinsgrove and Pat Cannon of Etters
each took a win in the twin 25-lap 358 sprint car features Saturday at
Selinsgrove Speedway on Central Builders night.

Heimbach won his third race of the season at the track in the makeup
feature from the June 4 rainout at the wheel of the Goff Racing/Creasy
Signs No. 12, while Cannon scored his fourth win at Selinsgrove later in
the night in the regularly scheduled feature event aboard the Highlands’
Tire Center No. 3

Coleby Frye of Dover became the seventh different winner in the late model
division when he held off point leader Jim Yoder of Selinsgrove in the
25-lap main event.

Tim Krape of Bellefonte took the checkered flag for the second time this
season in the 15-lap pro stock feature, while Ricky Bender of Jolliett
returned to Victory Lane for his third win of the season.

Selinsgrove Speedway will present another four division racing program of
358 sprint cars, late models, pro stocks, and roadrunners at 7:30 p.m.
Saturday, July 16. Jeff’s Auto Body & Recycling Center will host the Third
Annual Driver & Fan Appreciation Night. Track gates will open at 5 p.m.

At the start of the makeup sprint car feature, second-place starter Duane
Mausteller powered into the lead. Eric Tomecek, who started sixth, streaked
into the runner up position following the first lap. On a lap three
restart, third-place starter Colby Womer took over the second position as
Tomecek faltered to sixth.

On the sixth circuit, Phil Walter and Nate Snyder made hard contact in turn
four, ending their efforts in the makeup feature. The race was then stopped
on lap 10 when Matt Horst took a violent series of flips in turn four. All
the drivers escaped injury in both incidents.

The lap 10 restart saw seventh-place starter Blane Heimbach begin to show
some speed in the second half of the race. On a lap 19 restart, B. Heimbach
got around Womer for second in turn one, then made the winning pass by
Mausteller using the inside lane off turn four.

B. Heimbach crossed the finish line 1.3 seconds ahead of Womer for the win,
followed by Pat Cannon, Mark Smith and Josh Beard.

In the regularly scheduled sprint car feature, second-place starter Matt
Heimbach raced into the early lead and was chased by polesitter Brian
Nornhold and third-place starter Phil Walter. By lap six, Walter was
dueling with ninth-place starter Pat Cannon for positions in the top five.

Cannon advanced to second by lap seven and began to pressure M. Heimbach
for the lead. On each restart, Cannon attempted to make a pass underneath
M. Heimbach to no avail. At the halfway point, M. Heimbach was leading
Cannon, Walter, sixth-place starter Cody Keller, and 12th-place starter
Mark Smith.

On the 20th circuit, the race was stopped for a crash in turn four
involving Eric Tomecek, Nate Snyder, and Colby Womer. All the drivers
escaped injury. On the lap 21 restart, Cannon took the lead with an inside
pass entering turn one, while Walter and Smith also drive by M. Heimbach.

At the checkered flag, Cannon took the win by just one second over Walter,
Smith, M. Heimbach, and Keller.

At the start of the late model feature, second-place starter Meade Hahn
took the early lead. On the fourth lap, 12th-place starter Coleby Frye
stormed into second with a daring move between two cars entering turn one
and quickly closed the gap with race leader Hahn.

On the sixth lap, Frye took the lead with an inside pass off turn four.
Hahn’s car then rolled to a stop with a flat tire. At the halfway point,
Frye was the leader over 10th-place starter Jim Yoder, and fourth-place
starter Dave Zona. On the 14th circuit, seventh-place starter DylanYoder
advanced to third and four laps later 15th-place starter Jeff Rine powered
into fourth.

At the finish, Frye was victorious by 1.4 seconds over J. Yoder, D. Yoder,
Rine, and Bryan Bernheisel.

Second-place starter Adam Wray led the first two laps of the pro stock
feature until eighth-place starter Kyle Bachman stormed into the lead. Soon
after Bachman took the lead, 12th-place starter AJ Hoffman advanced to
second and set his sites on the leader, while fifth-place starter Tim Krape
held down the third position.

Bachman, Hoffman, and Krape broke away from the field and raced a close
battle at the front of the pack. On the ninth circuit, Hoffman made a dive
to the inside of the track racing off turn four to take the lead, only to
make contact with Bachman, which ended Bachman’s night and bid for the win.
Hoffman was assessed a penalty for the altercation and sent to the rear of
the field, allowing Krape to inherit the lead.

Krape led the rest of the way and posted the victory over Mike Kiehl, Doug
Minium, Jason Smith, and AJ Stroup.

Following an initial caution flag for an altercation in turn two involving
two cars, original eighth-place starter Ricky Bender powered into the lead
in the roadrunner feature. Bender was chased by 10th-place starter Keith
Bissinger until the driver of the “Tank” was forced to make a pit stop
before rejoining the race.

Current point leader Bob Bussey took over second and pressured Bender for
the second half of the race. At the finish, Bender was victorious by just
.43 of a second over Bussey, Rob Pyle, Butch Shaffer, and Brian Johnson
