MEMPHIS, Tenn. – Dave Steele and the RE Technologies/ Hemelgarn Enterprises team will race on the shortest track on the USAC TRAXXAS Silver Crown circuit, Lucas Oil Raceway, Thursday night at the J.D. Byrider 100.
The 100-lap event at the .686-mile oval produces tight wheel-to-wheel racing. Fortunately the team has veteran Dave Steel behind the wheel at a track he is very familiar with.
“I am looking forward to it. I have quite a few laps at the facility. The track is well suited for Silver Crown™ cars,” said driver of the No. 99 RE Technologies/ Hemelgarn Enterprises Roush-Yates Ford Redline entry. “Hopefully we can have a good finish towards the end of the season.”
The event kicks off Kroger SpeedFest and a week of races both at LOR and at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
“With this event running on the same weekend at the Brickyard 400, that adds a little prestige to it,” said Steele. “
Many NASCAR stars can trace their early career wins back to the event. Thursday night will also feature ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards and the USAC Mopar National Midget Series. Friday night will feature the NASCAR Camping World Series and Saturday night will feature the NASCAR Nationwide Series at the track. The NASCAR Sprint Cup Series is scheduled to race at Indianapolis Motor Speedway on Sunday afternoon.
