London, Ontario — (August 5, 2011) — Ryan Litt and the #07 BS&B Radiator Sprint Car team had last weekend off, and now they’re ready to get back in action with a big weekend in Michigan and Indiana. They’ve had a consistent season, but haven’t been able to break into the win column yet this year.
Ryan and the team last raced at Berlin Raceway on July 22 and 23. Ryan was all set to take home a 2nd place finish, but his right rear tire was used up and he spun out on the last lap and ended up 6th.
Friday will find Ryan and the team competing in an Auto Value/Bumper to Bumper Super Sprints series event at Dixie Motor Speedway in Birch Run, Michigan. Ryan has won four times at the high-banked 4/10 mile oval, including twice last season. At 150 miles away, it’s also closer to home than most tracks on the pavement Sprint Car circuit.
“I’m really excited about Dixie this Friday,” says Ryan. “Obviously it’s a really good track for us. We always run well and we have a big fan following there. I feel like it’s my hometown track because so many people cheer for us. It’s pretty cool. It’s an AVSS race so we don’t have to worry about points – just run hammer down and go for the win.”
Salem is another venue where Ryan has run well in the past, but he doesn’t have a win yet. He’s competed there on six occasions – five in a winged Sprint Car – and has recorded three second place finishes at the high-banked, high-speed track. His most recent Salem result was a runner-up finish in April’s Must See Racing Xtreme Sprint Car series season opener.
Ryan is currently 2nd in the Xtreme Sprint Car series points standings, just 7 points behind leader Troy DeCaire heading into Saturday’s 52nd annual Joe James/Pat O’Connor Memorial event.
“Salem should be really good for us,” says Ryan. “We finally got our big track motor figured out, so hopefully it will be pumping out full horsepower, and can take us to the win. The points race is tight so every spot counts now. That makes it really exciting for all the fans, as the top 4-5 guys in points will be giving it everything they’ve got for that extra spot.”
