(Gardena, CA, October 25, 2011) Greg Alexander, the young racing star from Gardena, California, is preparing for his second foray into the tough world of the Budweiser Oval Nationals at Perris Auto Speedway on November 3rd, 4th and 5th. Alexander will be in the cockpit of the John Belegante #23 Barnes Systems, Amsoil, Persall Masonry, Scott’s Headers and Mufflers car at the countries most prestigious traditional sprint car race.
The Budweiser Oval Nationals will pit Alexander against the top sprint car drivers from both the Amsoil National Sprint Car Series and the Amsoil USAC/CRA Series in three demanding nights of action. Racing three nights in a row against the best in the business can be a tough proposition for any team and that includes the Bellegante #23.
“Fortunately some fans and supporters stepped up and helped us out,” Alexander said. “We really want to thank them for getting involved. Without them, I am not sure we would have been able to race at the Oval Nationals.”

The easy smiling 22-year-old driver’s last appearance in the USAC West Coast 360 Series came at the last points paying race at the Thunderbowl in Tulare on October 8th. The night started off bright when he qualified second quick in the 22-car field. He was steaming his way towards the front of the pack in the main event when the engine began to steam as well when it got hot. Rather than risk damage to the power plant, Alexander pulled off and finished a disappointing 15th. However, he still managed to end up an impressive seventh in the season long standings despite missing two races.
