It was a case of so close, yet so far for Danny Reidy, after he last Saturday night at Archerfield Speedway missed out on a podium finish by a single spot in the fourth round of the KRE Sprintcar Series.
Fourth place was where the NT # 5 Desert Palms Resort – Alice Springs supported Maxim driver ended up at the completion of the feature race. This was a result that Reidy felt it certainly wasn’t a true reflection of the speed that he had carried throughout the night.
“I was one of the fastest cars all night, but in the feature race I came up a bit short,” commented a frustrated Reidy. “It was disappointing, as I was on top of the points heading into the dash, then drew a fourth for the dash and finished third, and third in the feature race started out of position three and stayed within podium contention for the entire race, but fourth was where I ended up.”
Although it was his highest feature race finish of the season thus far, Reidy was left disappointed with the end result, after he had earlier in the night shown great speed. The night started off with the third fastest lap in time trials, and then he managed to work his way forward from the back of the field in both of his heat races to finish fourth and third respectively.
Reidy is now determined to open his podium account for the 2011/12 season with a solid run at this Saturday night’s (November 12) $3,000 Dash for Cash event at Maryborough Speedway.
Reidy would like to thank, Desert Palms Resort – Alice Springs, Titan Plant Hire, Camden Neon Signs, P&M Motor Body Repairs, Gonzo’s Race Pipes and Inglis Race Engines, for all of their 2011/12 season support.
