Dramas Play Havoc With Mrs Macs Sprintcar Stampede

From Sydney Speedway

Sydney, AU — (February 25, 2012) — Tonight’s Mrs Macs-sponsored Sprintcar A-Main has unfortunately fallen victim to the track curfew. The A-Main was started within the specified time frame but after some spectacular incidents, the 11 o’clock curfew started to creep closer.

The final incident occurred after just twelve laps in the books when Mitchell Dumesny flipped spectacularly along the main straight. At that point, the clock struck 11 and that was the end of the race.

Before the race was abandoned, the two Ian’s – Madsen and Loudoun – put on a display of driving brilliance. For a few laps, there were trading slidejobs from one end of the track to the other.

Unfortunately, the strict council enforced curfew put pay to what could have been a magical battle. Earlier in the evening, Garry Brazier stop the clocks the quickest setting a time of 12.664 secoinds. In the heat races, Ben Atkinson, Jeremy Cross, Toby Bellbowen and Mitchell Dumesny all scored wins.

In the Litre Sprints, Scott Lewin claimed victory in the Gold Cup from D J Raw and Tony Brearley.

Joel Rhind won a shortened Wingless Sprints A-Main over Jason Gerbert and Macheal Sammut.

Gordon Elliot and Tony Irwin won the Most Spectacular and King Of Karnage respectively in the Fender benders.
