An ongoing brake issue hampered Danny Reidy throughout last Saturday night’s latest round of the KRE Sprintcar Series at Archerfield Speedway, and consequently denied him of a solid result.
The Reidy Racing tried everything possible to solve the brake woes aboard the NT # 5 Desert Palms Resort – Alice Springs supported J&J driver, but it was all in vain and he was forced to retire prematurely in the early laps of both of the twin feature races.
“Our brake problems got progressively worse as the night wore on,” said a disappointed Reidy. “By the time the feature races came around the brake issue became worse to the point where I only lasted a couple of laps before being forced to retire.”
Qualifying sixth in time trials started off Reidy’s night in strong fashion, but brake issues saw him struggle through both of his heat races, finishing in eighth and sixth spot respectively. These results qualified Reidy ninth for the opening feature race, but he retired after only a handful of laps. For the second feature race, starting at the rear of the field due to his DNF in the opening feature race, but he was once again forced into early retirement.
Reidy’s next scheduled event is the three night Tri-City Shootout over the Easter Long Weekend. It begins on Friday night, April 6 at Maryborough Speedway (Maryborough, QLD); followed by Saturday night, April 7 at Archerfield Speedway (Brisbane, QLD); and the final round at Charlton Raceway (Toowoomba, QLD) on Sunday night, April 8.
