– The funny thing about racing is how quickly luck changes, and for one of the hottest drivers in the world, Shane Stewart, his luck changed drastically over the past week as he was involved in two race ending crashes with his 3G motorsports team.
Wednesday night, Shane and the 3G team opted to take on the World of Outlaws in Farmer City, IL.
With 36 cars on hand, Stewart timed in with a less then desired lap and he was 21st quickest.
Making it through his heat, and into the feature, Stewart lined his Red Line Oil/DDNi/Media Tile entry up in the 19th spot on the tight confines of Farmer City Raceway.
Stewart slowly worked his way forward, as he began racing with Cody Darrah for the 15th spot on the 10th lap.
As a car got sideway in front of the duo, they both took evasive action and spun together, and unfortunately for Stewart, his night was over.
“That’s the beauty of short track racing,” said Stewart. “A car has trouble in front of you, and your night can be done just like that.”
Friday night, Stewart returned to Attica Raceway Park with the 3G team, and had a solid night going again until he was caught up in someone else’s mess.
Winning his heat, Stewart then pulled the 10 pill, lining him up in the fifth row of the feature event.
Unfortunately for Stewart and his 3G team, they were collected in a lap two wreck, and their night again was over very early.
“I don’t even know how good our car was because our night ended so abruptly,” said a frustrated Stewart.
On the second lap Phill Gressman and Greg Wilson came together, and Stewart ran out of real estate, and collided.
“I have to thank this team for letting me compete with them, it was just an unfortunate weekend.”
Shane and the 3G Motorsports team would like to thank Red Line Oil, Media Tile, DDNi, XYZ Machine, Gaerte Engines, All Star Performance, KPC Chassis, and SST Shocks for their continued support.
ON TAP: Shane now heads to California for a pair of 410 events aboard the familiar Paul Silva No.57. They are scheduled to compete Friday at the Silver Dollar Speedway in weekly competition before competing in the 22nd Annual Dave Bradway Jr Memorial at the same speedway, an event they won two years ago.
