From Double X Speedway
The 2012 racing season at Double-X Speedway in California Mo will begin on Mother’s Day, (Sunday May 13). Weekly classes will include the 360 winged sprints, street stocks, and hobby stocks.
Race promoter Kyle Wirts said he is optimistic about the season as the schedule includes a variety of events to suit all types of race fans. Wirts stated that he is especially excited about the newly formed wingless sprint car series appropriately named “W.A.R.” (Wingless Auto Racing). “The interest and momentum of this class has grown incredibly over the winter months. We’re looking forward to hosting them a few times this season.”
The A.M.S. (American Midget Series) will also be new to “XX” race fans this year. They will debut on May 25 for “Open Wheel Friday” with the 360 winged sprints and 600cc winged micros.
Other guest divisions will include the A.S.C.S. Warrior Region sprint cars and the 600cc winged micro midget sprints.
The U.L.M.A. (Limited Late Models) will also join the action this year. A highly anticipated event is on July 1 as the U.L.M.A. will finalize and celebrate their “Triple Crown Shoot-Out Series” Championship at Double-X.
Some notable dates for race fans include the Annual events of our “Tribute to Jesse” night on Memorial weekend and the 10th Annual Clyde Wood Memorial race on July 22.
Wirts advised that race fans should look closely at the 2012 schedule as a Friday night and Saturday night have been added.
The 2012 season will conclude with the final point race and Championship being on Saturday, August 11. Wirts said that a Saturday seemed fitting for the season finale, allowing more race fans to stay later to enjoy the traditional ‘powder puffs’ and ‘mechanics races’.
