– Park City, Kansas – June 6, 2012 – Eight races at five different race tracks amongst four divisions await the teams of the National Championship Racing Association of Park City, Kansas presented by Precise Racing Products for the month of June. They include four races for the southern sport modifieds, two races for the modifieds and one a piece for the 360 sprint and 305 sprint car series.
Below is a look at what is to come for each of those divisions of NCRA for the month of June:
NCRA Southern Sport Modified Division:
The Bob Howard PDC and Mopar NCRA southern sport mods will kick off the month with their first of two appearances for the 2012 race season at the Salina High Banks Speedway in Salina, Oklahoma on Saturday night, June 2nd. (This event was won by Travis Johnson for his division leading eighth career victory. Thirty-one drivers were on hand.)
The on Saturday night, June 16th will be the makeup event for the previously rained out event at 81 Speedway in Park City to kick off two consecutive nights of NCRA racing action during Father’s Day weekend. Gates open at 5:00 pm and racing starts at 7:00 pm. General admission prices are $10, $5 for children while pit passes are $20.
After a one year hiatus the “i-40 highway tour” is back as Elk City Speedway in Elk City, Kansas will host the tour for the first time since 2010 on Friday night, June 22nd. Robert Elliott was the winner at that last series southern sport modified event held at the track. Gates open at 6:00 pm with races starting at 8:00 pm.
One night later it is the annual trip to West Texas and the beautiful Route 66 Motor Speedway in Amarillo, Texas for a Saturday night showdown with the locals. Kelly Cross won last year’s event for the home town crowd. Gates open at 5:00 pm and races start at 7:00 pm.
NCRA 305 Sprint Car Division:
The series newest division will travel to 81 Speedway on Saturday night, June 9th for race number two for the 2012 race season. Raymond Seeman won the season opener back in May. This will be the second of a nine race schedule for the tour that will pay $1000 to win and $200 to start each feature finale. Gates open at 5:00 pm and racing starts at 7:00 pm. General admission prices are $10, $5 for children while pit passes are $20.
NCRA 360 Sprint Car Division:
A special “Hoosier Daddy” Father’s Day special at 81 Speedway will showcase the series 360 sprint car division on Sunday night, June 17th. It will be race number three for the tour and the third race on the 2012 schedule as the previously scheduled event at RPM Speedway in Hays, Kansas during Memorial Day weekend was nixed by rain.
Jason Johnson of Eunice, Louisiana won the season opener that paid $4000 to win while two-time and defending series champion C.J. Johnson picked up the victory in the last event held for the tour.
Gates open at 5:00 pm and racing starts at 7:00 pm. General admission prices are $10, $5 for children while pit passes are $20.
NCRA Modified Division:
As part of the “Hoosier Daddy” Father’s Day special at 81 Speedway, the series modified division will be in action on Sunday night, June 17th. This will be the third event held at the home of the series with Jason McGehee and Johnny Bone, Jr. having picked up victories. Tyler Davis picked up a victory at Humboldt Speedway in Humboldt, Kansas back over Memorial Day weekend to make three different feature winners in the three events that have been held thus far.
Gates open at 5:00 pm and racing starts at 7:00 pm. General admission prices are $10, $5 for children while pit passes are $20.
For the first time since 2008 the tour will head to the Garfield County Fairgrounds and Enid Speedway in Enid, Oklahoma on Sunday evening, June 24th. Former five-time series champion Brian Franz of Halstead, Kansas won the last time the tour hit the track.
Gates open at 4:00 pm with a new special start time at 6:00 pm. Grandstand admission is $12 for adults and $5 for ages 6-10. Pit passes are $25.
