Osborn, MO — (June 15, 2012) — For the second time in three years, Springfield, Nebraska’s “Dancin” Jack Dover captured The Bud Shootout at US 36 Raceway in Osborn, Missouri.Dover snuck by race long leader Jonathon Cornell just before a lap 20 yellow that could have potentially nixed the winning pass. The two time ASCS Midwest Champ survived the final 5 rounds to take his first ASCS victory of the season aboard the Roush Yates powered Certified Transmissions, Home Pride, and Oil Medics sponsored no. 53.

Following a trio of heat races that handed $500 to the victors courtesy of Apple Market Grocery Stores, Casey’s General Stores, Bill’s Camper Sales of St. Joseph’s and Klein Motors; Aussie transplant Chad Ely led the field to the initial start of the 25 lap main event featuring the ASCS Midwest Regions vs. the ASCS Warrior Region.

Perennial Show Me State powerhouse and current Warrior leader Jonathon Cornell took the lap one command before Jon Corbin got upside down on the second circuit. A second red flag came on lap 10 as Midwest Region point leader Stu Snyder tumbled, collecting Miranda Arnold and Randy Hibbs and forcing early exits for a pair of pilots in competition for their first top five finishes of the 2012 season.

Pacing the 25 lap main event in the top three for the first half of the race, Dover made his move on the 19th circuit, completing the race winning pass and putting a lap in the books before a Gage Dorr yellow slowed the lightning fast action for the final time.

Cornell chased Dover to the finish line, ultimately falling a few car length short but taking a runner up finish that will increase his grip on the ASCS Warrior campaign. Midwest rep Jordan Boston advanced five spots to claim the show position.

Jon Agan moved up six positions to finish fourth with Nixa, Missouri’s Kyle Bellm continuing a strong string of finishes with a fifth place showing.

Topeka, Kansas rookie Wyatt Burks took the Hard Charger effort with a run up from 21st to tenth, earning half of the 50/50 ticket proceeds for his effort ($372).

Forrest Sutherland, Jack Dover, and Jake Martens each $500 heat race wins over the 22 car field.

Jonathon Cornell’s runner up finish will increase his point lead in the Warrior ranks, with Stu Snyder furthering his bid for a first ASCS Midwest title despite the lap 10 flip resulting in a 17th place finish as his two immediate pursuers failed to check into the US 36 battleground.

The Speedway Motors ASCS Warrior Region continues the Father’s Day Weekend with a Saturday night weekend finale at LA Raceway in LaMonte, Missouri.
