SARVER, Penn. (July 18, 2012) – Craig Dollansky was declared the winner of the Don Martin Memorial Silver Cup event at Lernerville Speedway after he and NASCAR star Tony Stewart split two 30-lap features in World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series competition.
The unique format of the Don Martin event features two main events. The winner is determined by the highest average finish.
Goodyear provides the tires for both the touring WoO series and for the weekly 410 sprint car racers at Lernerville Speedway. The tires Goodyear supplies for the weekly program at Lernerville come from the same line the tiremaker manufactures for the touring stars of the WoO.
Dollansky’s win in the first feature was ahead of a field in which the top 20 cars finished on the lead lap. Danny Holtgraver finished second, followed by Tim Shaffer, Steve Kinser and David Gravel.
Stewart’s victory came after a racing incident took him out of the first race. Donny Schatz was second, followed by Jason Sides, Lance Dewease and Greg Hodnett.
The event drew 40 cars to the track. Shaffer was the top driver in time trials. The field of the second race was set by the finish of the first race, with an inversion process.
Kinser’s lead in the championship standings now stands at 25 points over Dollansky, 5,377 to 5,352.
