Haubstadt, IN — (July 30, 2012) — The MSCS Hoosier Sprint Nationals
will be the first event to be held as the series returns to action
after being idle during July. This race originated back in 2005 and
was one of the earliest efforts by a promoter to present a race with
a substantial enough purse to attract non-wing sprint car drivers far
and wide. This year the purse pays $5,000 to win!

The 8th annual Hoosier Sprint Nationals will be contested on the high
banks of Tri-State Speedway on Saturday August 4th. Once again it is
positioned on the schedule at a most opportune time. It is the first
of seven big events set to close out the 2012 MSCS season. All of
these races pay $3,000 or more to win and two races in September will
pay $10,000 to win. Fans will have an opportunity to see the best
sprint car drivers racing in a 40 lap contest ending with one driver
earning a Hoosier size chunk of national acclaim.

In an effort to give this race some added flair, an agreement was
reached between officials of Tri-State Speedway and the MSCS series
to waive the usual temporary license fee. A $20 fee is charged by
MSCS when drivers want to race a select event and not purchase an
annual license. For this one event drivers outside the series will
be welcome to race without paying any additional fees. An entry fee
will not be charged either! Everyone entering the pits will have to
pay for the $30 pit pass and drivers can then run for the $5,000 top
prize!

MSCS rules will be followed which includes the spec Hoosier HT-2 or
DT-3 right rear tire. Only MSCS licensed drivers receive points so
licenses will be available for purchase to drivers who plan on racing
on into the fall with the series. Passing points will be used. Cars
will not time trial but race to qualify and transfer to the main!
RaceCeivers are available for rent and will be used to communicate
with drivers on the track.

The list of former winners at the Hoosier Sprint Nationals includes
Kevin Briscoe, Daron Clayton, Hunter Schuerenberg, Brady Short, Jon
Stanbrough, and Levi Jones who won in 2011. Rain prevailed in 2009
thus there have only been six Nationals winners! Brady Short is the
only previous winner who has also won the Series points title.
Former Series Champions Kyle Cummins and Blake Fitzpatrick were close
in posting second place finishes. Shane Cottle finished as the race
runner-up twice!

No driver has yet been able to repeat with a win in what has proved
to be a most competitive race. Other drivers who have finished in
the top five for this event include Wes McIntyre, Robert Ballou, Mat
Neely, A.J. Anderson, Jon Sciscoe, Thomas Meseraull, Cory Kruseman,
Chase Stockon, Chris Urish, and Brandon Petty.

Over the years more than 100 different competitors have arrived at the
pit gate at Tri-State Speedway in Haubstadt to exercise the
opportunity to win this one race. They have traveled from 11
different States. 54 per cent of those arriving were from Indiana as
one would expect. Racers have also traveled to Haubstadt from
Illinois, California, Missouri, Kentucky, Ohio, Colorado, Oklahoma,
Tennessee, South Dakota, and Arizona. They have come from across this
great country in an annual exodus to race at the Hoosier Sprint
Nationals.

The pit gate opens at 3:30 and the stands open at 4:30. Hot laps are
at 6:30 with racing beginning at 7:30. The track is in the Central
Time Zone. The UMP Modifieds will also race to complete the program.
