– After a busy week in Knoxville, IA, Cody Darrah and the World of Outlaws had three nights of action scheduled, and Darrah had a strong runs in McCool Junction, NE and Grand Forks, ND, but the Sunday night show in Minot, SD ended violently.

Timing in fifth quickest at the Junction Motor Speedway, Darrah scored a fifth place finish in his heat to lock the SurePoint/Schroth Racing/Sage Fruit No.4 into the night’s dash.

Starting in the fifth spot, Darrah would tally a fourth place finish to secure a second row starting spot in the 30-lap feature event.

When the feature went Green, Darrah remained in the fourth spot as the lead pack broke away from the field on what was a very maneuverable surface.

Chasing down Brian Brown, Darrah was able to overtake the third spot on the 15th lap, and would hold on to the third spot as the race came to a close after 30-non-stop-laps.

“It’s great to come back after the Nationals and put together a podium run,” Darrah explained. “Everyone is worn down, and this just helps up keep going.”

During the second round of the Duel in the Dakotas at River City Speedway, Darrah scored a fifth place finish, but it wasn’t the finish the SurePoint team was hoping for.

After starting on the pole of the feature event, Darrah quickly fell back to third as he diced it up with sprint car legends, Steve Kinser and Sammy Swindell.

As the race wore on, a couple of restarts burdened Darrah as he slipped back to the fifth spot when the checkered flag waved.

“We were pretty good early in the night, but unfortunately in the feature we just missed it a touch,” he said. “Top fives aren’t horrible, but we just need to be able to capitalize on good starting spots.”

Sunday night a busy week would come to an end in wild fashion at the Nodak Speedway .

Kicking the night off with a 17th best qualifying effort, Darrah was in catch up mode all night long.

Starting sixth in his heat race, CD4 was able to work his Roth Motosports/Factory Kahne/Team ASE backed machine up to a fourth place finish, putting him in the 17th starting spot for the feature event.

As the feature event got underway, Darrah seemed to be on a mission as he was able to go both high and low, working his way through traffic.

On the 17th lap, Darrah had worked his way up into the top ten, when he got sucked up into the crash-wall sending his machine into a series of violent flips with him landing in the catch fence.

Fortunately Darrah escaped from the wreckage with no injuries, but his night was finished.

“I’m not really sure what happened,” said Darrah of the wreck. “We just king of got sucked up into the wall and it took off. Fortunately I have some of the best safety gear in the game and was able to walk away.”

ON TAP- Darrah and the World of Outlaws will now head to Canada this weekend for a double-header at the Castrol Raceway in Edmonton, Alberta on Friday and Saturday night.
