Returning to the Castrol Raceway for the first time since scoring his lone 2011 win at the facility, Cody Darrah put together another solid weekend across the border as he picked up two fourth place finishes aboard his SurePoint/Team ASE/Sage Fruit No.4 car.

On Friday night, Darrah opened the weekend up by qualifying with the tenth fastest lap, putting him on the pole of the first heat. Sharing the front row with Sam Hafertepe, Jr, Darrah lost the drag race into turn one, but held on to finish in the second spot, putting his Ti22/Roth Motorsports/Schroth Racing entry in the feature event as well as the dash.

An eighth place finish in the dash, put CD4 in the fourth row of the 30-lap feature, and he would proceed to put on a pretty exciting show for all that were in attendance.

Getting off to a rather slow start that saw the first 17 laps click off with no stoppages, Darrah took advantage of a flurry of cautions over the final 13-laps utilizing the double file restarts.

Working up into the fifth spot before the final caution waved his just three laps to go, Darrah kept fourth running Kerry Madsen in his sights, and would pass the Australian driver as they exited turn four, taking the checkered flag.

Saturday night was nearly identical to Friday, as Darrah timed his Kasey Kahne Racing entry in with the ninth quickest lap during qualifications.

Again scoring a second place finish in his heat race, the Red Lion, PA driver would earn a birth in the dash, where a seventh place finish would put him in the fourth row for the feature event.

When the race came to life, Darrah hung around in the seventh spot, as he felt out his SurePoint No.4 entry, and worked up to the fifth spot around the halfway point of race.

In the closing laps, Darrah was able to get around his KKR teammate, Joey Saldana, to grab the fourth spot for the second straight night.

“This SurePoint team worked hard all weekend, and gave me a great car both nights,” Darrah explained. “We had some weird stuff going on Friday night, but the guys got it taken care of, and we were able to get out of Canada with a couple of fourth place finishes.”

ON TAP- Darrah and the World of Outlaws will now head out west for the Gold Rush Tour kicking off on Wednesday night August 29th at the Grays Harbor Raceway in Elma, WA.
