RW/Curb-Agajanian #17 secures the Silver Crown Owner’s Championship with Bryan Clauson’s 6th place finish at Saturday night’s “Sumar Classic 100,” which took place at the Terre Haute Action Track in Terre Haute, Indiana.  Clauson took the pole, but Bobby East quickly grabbed the lead at the start and led all 100 laps.  RW Motorsports #27 Silver Crown driver, Jerry Coons Jr., finished second to East.  This victory awarded East the 2012 TRAXXAS USAC Silver Crown Champion over Coons by just 12 points in the final standings.

The “Sumar Classic 100” marked the end of an impressive season for RW Motorsports in the Silver Crown series.  Bobby Santos III, in his first race aboard the RW/Curb-Agajanian #17 on pavement, pulled away with the victory in the Inaugural “Hall of Fame Classic” Silver Crown race at Lucas Oil Raceway at Indianapolis.  Teammate Jerry Coons Jr. went back-to-back with his 2nd straight “Hoosier Hundred” victory, at the Indiana State Fairgrounds in the RW Motorsports – Joe Gibbs Driven Racing Oil #27 Beast/Wallace Toyota.  Coons took home his second Silver Crown win of the season and second Toledo Speedway win in three races in the “Rollie Beale 100.”  Coons was joined on the podium by teammate Santos, who placed 3rd.  Santos returned to victory lane with a dominating performance in the “J.D. Byrider 100″ at Lucas Oil Raceway at Indianapolis.   The win backed up his victory in the “Hall of Fame Classic” at the same track in May.  Bryan Clauson picked up a victory in the “4-Crown Nationals,” at Eldora Speedway.  Clauson was joined on the podium by teammate Coons, with a 3rd place finish.

It wouldn’t have been such a successful year, without the efforts of the RW Motorsports crew; Darr Lawson, Evan Avart, Mike Dutcher, AJ Bray, and Kreig Poland poured a tremendous amount of effort into the cars, and it paid off for the team.  RW Motorsport owner, Steve Weirich, shared his thoughts on the winning season, “I am extremely proud and impressed by the hard work and drive for success the RWMS team showed all season.  Jerry, Bryan, and Bobby’s performance has been outstanding and the preparation of the cars by the entire crew is extraordinary.  Working with this level of talent and dedication is what has helped create this championship race team.”

The RW Motorsports team attributes a great deal of their success to their fans and sponsors who stood behind the team to support them through the entire season.
