Attica, OH – (March 18, 2013) – Though the first day of spring is near, you can’t tell it by the weather in North Central Ohio. Cold, icy, snowy and rainy weather through the early part of the week, and colder temperatures forecast for later in the week has prompted Attica Raceway Park officials to cancel the 25th Anniversary Season opener on Friday, March 22.
“The guys worked hard over the past week on the track and rolling the grounds and getting the place ready. Unfortunately, Mother Nature isn’t cooperating. The grounds, especially the parking areas, are just too wet and soft and with rain and ice and snow the first couple of days of the week and very little drying opportunity and coupled with the forecast which calls for highs only in the mid 30s and lows in the 20s….that’s not a good combination for the fans and race teams,” said Rex LeJeune, director of operations at ARP.
Attica Raceway Park will kick off its 25th Anniversary season in a big way Friday and Saturday, March 29 and 30 with the 22nd annual HD Supply Spring Nationals featuring the University of Northwestern Ohio All Star Circuit of Champions Sprint Cars.
