Brian Olson moved from Puyallup, WA to Avon, IN
in 2006 to concentrate on midget racing. Olson
eventually removed himself from midget competition
due to rising costs and very few pavement midgets
events remaining in the Midwest.
In 2011, Olson decided to run a sprint car for former
racer and veteran car owner, Jerry Powell, at the
Little 500. Olson adapted quickly and set on the
front row in his first-ever attempt at pavement sprint car
racing. Olson ran a handful of Must See RacingXtreme Sprint Series (MSRXSS) events the rest of the 2011 season.
The 2012 season found Olson in the Davey Hamilton Racing owned TRUFUEL Diablo chassis for an assault on the MSRXSS championship. Olson rose to the occasion and picked up a win at Mobile International Speedway in the second race of the season. Olson then went on to claim the Joe James/Pat O’Connor Memorial at Salem Speedway in August in convincing style. Olson finished fourth in the final MSRXSS final standings.
Olson has started his own team for 2013. Olson has secured sponsorship from PRO-VAC, INDYCAR EXPERIENCE, and Edward’s Transmissions & Engines. Veteran pavement sprint car mechanic, Jack French, will be turning the wrenches on the DRC chassis.

The 2013 season has gone smoothly thus far Olson insists.”I’m
pretty happy with the new combination and car” explains Olson.
“I was comfortable at the Must See openers. I think we still have
more to gain. Jack French is gonna help me out a lot. He has so
much knowledge. Him and I agree on a lot of concepts and work
well together”.
The focus for 2013 will be wins for the Olson team. With wins
comes championships Olson insists.” I think with the package
we have, we should be competitive this season. With our Charlie
Fisher engine, I feel like we have one of the best running engines
out there right now. I’m focusing on wins this year. If we’re
winning consistently, we’ll have a good shot at winning the 2013

MSRXSS championship”.
Olson’s focus now turns to the MSRXSS Xtreme Speed Challenge at Winchester Speedway May 19.”I’ve only run there twice. I really haven’t had any good runs there yet. It’s a really tricky place with all the bumps. We’ll work on getting the car good so I can be comfortable there”.
With Olson’s recent success at Salem Speedway, one would think that confidence would carry over.”Salem and Winchester are both super fast and really high-banked. But, both are totally different. It’s like comparing apples and oranges”.
With the package Olson has in place, he should be in position to win the Xtreme Speed Challenge as well as have a productive 2013 MSRXSS season.” I feel pretty optimistic about 2013″ concluded Olson.
