Port Royal – Port Royal Speedway will present Fan Appreciation Night this Saturday, June 15 at 7 pm, offering extremely affordable $10 adult general admission to fans for an outstanding three-division show of 410 sprints, super late models and PASS 305 sprints.

This is the third consecutive season that the Juniata County oval has hosted the night, meant to give back to all fans, offering them a chance to take in a superior night at the races at a reduced cost.

The 410 sprints will be competing as part of Bob Collins Non-qualifiers Night, in honor of the former sprint car crewmember who frequented the track.

In memory of Collins, over $1,200 in donations has been raised with half of the money to be split up between the sprint car drivers in attendance who fail to qualify for the 25-lap Aumiller’s Insurance sprint car feature.

The other half of the money will be presented to one long time Port Royal fan who has had his life dramatically effected by Lyme disease.

Saturday’s program will include a full slate of qualifying heat races for all three divisions capped off by a 25-lap 410 sprint main and 20-lap mains for the super late models and the 305 sprints.

So far this season nine feature events for the Gray’s Auto and Towing super late models have produced eight different winners while 10 Aumiller’s Insurance 410 sprint mains have produced eight winners.

In the River Valley Builders 305 sprint series at the track this season, three races have provided a pair of victors.

The sprint car and late model action at the track this season has been the most competitive in recent memory at the track.

Currently, Harrisburg’s Chad Layton leads Selinsgrove’s Blane Heimbach in the season-long chase for the 410-sprint title by just five markers while local driver Terry Naugle has taken over the late model point chase from Steve Campbell.

Coming up at Port Royal on June 22 it will be Food Pantry/Camera & Autograph Night featuring general admission access to the pit area from 5 until 6 pm.

A non-perishable donation to the Juniata County Food Pantry by fans will net them a $2 discount ticket to the races good for the rest of the season.

The racing action will include 410 sprints, super late models and twin 12-lap features for the pro stocks.

The night will also offer the First National Bank of Mifflintown Kids Money Scramble on the frontstretch when more than $300 in silver coins will be scrambled for youth ages 12 and under to gather up.
