USCS Outlaw Thunder Tour sprints stay busy

Atlanta, GA – June 22, 2013 – The United Sprint Car Series Outlaw Thunder Tour kicks off a very busy four race in eight day schedule of races on Friday, June 28th with a visit to Benton Raceway Park in Benton, Missouri. On the following night (June 29th) the winged sprint car drivers and teams invade historic Riverside International Speedway’s gumbo ¼ mile in West Memphis, Arkansas for the finale of the USCS Sprint Speedweek 2013 that was rained out on the original date of June 1st. On Wednesday, July 3rd the USCS Outlaw Thunder Tour headlines the 2nd annual USCS Rumble at the Ridge at Crowley’s Ridge Raceway in Paragould, Arkansas. The busy holiday race-week concludes with a first-ever visit for the USCS winged sprint cars to Diamond Park Speedway in Nashville, Arkansas on Friday, July 5th.
Approximately $50,000 in total prize money is up for grabs with one driver able to win nearly $9,000 including bonuses for the week’s action. All four of the events pay $2000 to win with a minimum of $250 to start the A-Main.  Any driver who starts all four A-Main events is guaranteed to go home with a minimum of $1100 for the week. Additionally each night’s Speedweek event awards USCS National points as well as USCS Mid-South Thunder Tour regional Championship points.

 

During the course of the four nights of intense competition, many of the top ranked drivers in the Nation are expected to compete. Over 40 different drivers from at least 7 states are expected to compete in the four events. Those drivers include ten-time USCS Champion, Terry Gray from Bartlett, Tennessee and 2002 NSCHOF 360 Sprint Car Driver of the Year and 2008 USCS Mid South Thunder regional Champion, Tim Crawley from Benton, Arkansas. Crawley was the 2012 and defending USCS National Champion.  Crawley current leads the National Standings by 1 point over USCS Mid-South Thunder Tour point’s leader Derek Hagar from Marion, Arkansas.  Hagar has won 6 times in 2013 competition.  Crawley has won three times. Gray is second on the all-time feature winner list in the USCS with 80+ wins.  Tim Crawley is third on the all-time list with over 50+ USCS feature wins.

 

The K&N Filters USCS Outlaw Modified series joins the USCS sprint cars on the racing card at Benton Raceway Park, Crowley’s Ridge Raceway and at Diamond Park Speedway. The www.rockauto.com USCS 600 Sprint Car Series winged mini/micro sprints also join both USCS series to complete a USCS Triple-header at Crowley’s Ridge Raceway on the night before the 4th of July.
