New Richmond, WI — (July 2, 2013) — For the first time this season Big Game Motorsports teammates Craig Dollansky and Sammy Swindell each recorded a World of Outlaws STP Sprint Car Series feature victory on the same weekend.

Dollansky secured his fifth win of the season in the Eyecon Trail Cameras car on Saturday during the 4th annual Jim “JB” Boyd Memorial at Beaver Dam Raceway in Beaver Dam, Wis., with Big Game Treestands sponsored Swindell earning his second win of the year on Sunday at Cedar Lake Speedway.

“It was great to see Big Game Motorsports win back-to-back races,” Dollansky said. “It was a great weekend in that regard.”

The weekend opened on Friday at LaSalle Speedway in LaSalle, Ill., on a positive note for both drivers.

Dollansky overcame a 15th-place qualifying effort to finish second in his heat race, advancing to the dash. He placed eighth in that and then charged the Eyecon Trail Cameras car to a podium finish at the quarter-mile oval.

“There was a lot of caution flags,” he said after finishing third. “It seemed like the longer the race went the better for us. We were coming pretty good there at the end.”

Swindell qualified ninth and also placed second in his heat race to move to the dash, which he ended fourth in.

“It was going along there pretty well,” he said. “I don’t think we really hit the setup quite right. We were able to hold our own. We just weren’t as good as we needed to be.”

The Big Game Treestands car competed for a top five for the entire race before settling for a sixth-place finish.

Big Game Motorsports picked up a victory the two ensuing nights, leading with Dollansky at Beaver Dam Raceway on Saturday.

“It seemed like from the start of the night we were good,” he said. “We got ourselves in a good spot for the feature. We kept working on things through the night. The track was in great shape. We had a race track you could run the bottom, run the top. That’s some of the best racing you can get.”

Dollansky qualified fifth quickest and advanced to second in his heat race to lock himself into the dash. He then piloted the Eyecon Trail Cameras car from fifth to second to start the 40-lap feature on the outside of the front row.

Dollansky took the lead for good on Lap 19 during the main event and cruised to the emotional victory, which honored a longtime family friend.

“It was a special win,” he said. “Scott Boyd and the entire Boyd family have been supporters of mine for a long time. My crew chief, D.J., is Jim’s son-in-law. It meant a lot.”

Swindell endured one of his most frustrating nights of the season at Beaver Dam Raceway, where he qualified 12th quickest and narrowly missed advancing to the dash through his heat race by one position. He started the feature 14th and was spun by a car behind him midway through.

“I just never could get going very well there,” he said after finishing 18th. “I got punted from behind by somebody. We were already having a bad race and that just made it worse.”

However, it changed the following day when Swindell powered the Big Game Treestands car into Victory Lane for the first time in three months.

“It was good from when we unloaded it,” he said. “We didn’t make many changes. I think we found a little better solution for the setups and hopefully it carries forward for us. The little things seem to be what matter.”

Swindell qualified second quickest and charged from fourth to win his heat race. That advanced him to the dash, which he finished fourth in. Swindell took the lead on a restart with eight laps remaining in the feature and drove away to the win.

“I knew timing was the biggest thing,” he said of the restart. “It’s so wide there. There’s not much of an advantage coming off the top. It was about having the right pace and being able to accelerate at the right time. There were so many reds and yellows we never really got into traffic. It seemed like we were lapping those same three or four cars every four or five laps. It was either going to be the starts or the traffic to be the opportunity to pass.”

Dollansky had the opposite night with a couple of tough breaks in the feature. He qualified 10th quickest and placed second in his heat race to advance to the dash, which he finished seventh in. However, a couple of crashes relegated the Eyecon Trail Cameras car to a 14th-place result.

“We weren’t really happy with our night,” he said. “Things didn’t go the way we would have liked. It was just one of those nights you put behind you and roll on.”

Big Game Motorsports and the World of Outlaws STP Sprint Car Series return to action on Wednesday at Huset’s Speedway in Brandon, S.D., before a Friday and Saturday doubleheader at Dodge City Raceway Park in Dodge City, Kan., for the Boot Hill Showdown.
