Orrville, OH — (July 12, 2013) — With all the rain the past week soaking into the track to make it good and fast plus double points for Mid Season Championships, it was set up to be some exciting racing on Malcuit Tavern Night at NAPA Wayne County Speedway and that it was. Andrew Palker set a new track record for the Fisher Performance Sprints with a time of 14.616 seconds but that would be the highlight of his night. Brad Haudenschild and Wooster’s Broc Martin would bring the field to the green flag as Palker quickly jumped into second place but the powerplant of the #57x would expire before he could complete the second lap. As Palker was coasting into the infield, Jordan Harble took a tumble in turn one to bring out the red flag and he would be transported to the hospital with a neck injury. On the restart, Martin grabbed the lead with Haudenschild hounding him and as they worked their way through the back of the field, Haudenschild could pull along side Martin’s Jim Smith Enterprises, SCFN, and Santmyer Oil #83, but could never inch ahead. With Martin using the low groove and Haudenschild running high side until the white flag waved when Haudenshild tried the low groove in turn two, only to spin himself and lose second place. Lee Jacobs could not make a run on Martin, who claimed his second win of the year, on the last lap after the restart as Mitch Harble took third with 12th starting Jason Dolick claiming fourth followed by Aaron Middaugh. Heat wins went to Haudenschild and Jacobs.
