Zeth Sabo battled and won the NAPA All Star Circuit of Champions “Ohio Speedweek” finale Saturday night at Wayne County Speedway. Following Sabo was Darin Naida (for the 2nd time this week), Kalib Henry, Cap Henry and Cale Thomas. Cap Henry was crowned Speedweek champion.

WET WEATHER CONTINUES TO PLAGUE WAYNE COUNTY SPEEDWAY’S SCHEDULE

With rain most of Friday into early Saturday morning plus thunderstorms predicted for late afternoon Saturday, soggy weather has once again postponed Wayne County Speedway’s opening night. For the sixth time this season, although one was a scheduled night off that would have been rained out anyway, late week rains with no drying weather, has kept Orrville’s Historic Oval shut down.

WAYNE COUNTY SPEEDWAY & OVSCA ADD RACES TO SCHEDULE

During Tuesday nights practice session at Wayne County Speedway, track owner/promoter Jason Flory and Ohio Valley Sprint Car Association promoter Randy Fink got together and added more dates for the season. The OVSCA will visit Orrville’s Historic Oval 7 times this season with May 9th and 16th along with the 4th of July and August 8th being added dates to join with the July 25th, August 22nd and September 26th for the Ohio Dirt Blow Out.

SOGGY CONDITIONS PREVENTS WAYNE COUNTY SPEEDWAY’S ACTION

With Wayne County Speedway’s grounds already wet, Friday afternoon into evening showers soaked it the more and made the conditions of the 3/8 dirt mile oval to wet to work into shape and be raceable for good and safe racing for Saturday nights scheduled racing, so for the second week in a row, Orrville’s Historic Oval will sit and wait until next Saturday night.

HEAVY RAINS WASH OUT WAYNE COUNTY SPEEDWAY’S SCHEDULED OPENER

Heavy rain and storms that started on Wednesday and continued on and off through Friday night and Saturday morning that totaled between 5 to 8 inches of rain in the Wayne County area, drenched the grounds of Orrville’s Historic Oval, plus more storms predicted for Saturday afternoon, forced track owner Jason Flory to cancel the scheduled 2026 season opener.
