Cunningham Seventh and 11th to Close US Trip

PETERSEN MEDIA

Michael Cunningham spent his final weekend competing in the states scoring seventh and 11th place finishes at the Silver Dollar Speedway and Stockton 99 Dirt Track respectively.

Friday night, Cunningham was in action at the Silver Dollar Speedway where he timed his PRP Engineering/A.R.T. entry in 11th quickest in time trials.

Starting on the pole of his heat race, Cunningham grabbed the lead, and was able to pick up the heat race win, putting him in the fifth row for the feature event.

On a track that was slick and very racy, the Australian pilot was able to mix it up with some of Chico’s best, and tallied a seventh place finish when it was all said and done.

Saturday night, Cunningham made the trip to the Stockton 99 Dirt Track, a new track for both the King of the West Series, as well as Cunningham.

On a very heavy track in time trials, Cunningham timed his machine in 19th quickest, and missing the inversion.

On a track that continued to stay fast all night, Cunningham scored a fifth place finish and transferred to the feature event, as he started the 30-lap feature event in the 16th spot.

Keeping his cool, and holding his throttle down all way around the track, Cunningham was able to work his way forward to score an 11th place finish, to close out his US tour.

“I have to thank everyone who helped us out, for the nine races that we were here for,” Cunningham said. “I had a blast meeting so many people, and racing up here, I just wish I could stay longer.”

Michael and his Cunningham Racing team would like to thank PRP Engineering, and A.R.T. Speed Equipment for their support.
