Following a top-five performance on Friday in Grand Forks, the Eyecon Trail Cameras #7 team put a seal on 2013 competition in North Dakota on Sunday as the World of Outlaws STP Sprint Cars made their annual visit at Nodak Speedway in Minot where ‘The Crowd Pleaser’ scored the victory in 2010.
Set to go with 32 drivers signed into the pit area, a late draw for qualifying saw Dollansky stop the clock 22nd overall circling the 3/8-mile track in 13.854 seconds. In a bit of a hole for the racing program, the MobileStar #7 lined up outside row three on the starting grid for heat two and finished 5th to transfer into the main event.
In the 35-lap A-Main the Big Game Treestands backed entry started deep in the pack outside row eleven. After a caution and red on the first two attempts to go green for the feature, the third time was a charm as Dollansky rocketed up to thirteenth before a caution on lap 9. Losing a couple positions on the double-file restart, the Aggressive Hydraulics Maxim rebounded before the next caution on lap 15 and then powered into the top-ten eight circuits later. As the main event resumed, Dollansky battled to maintain position but fell back to 16th in the final twelve laps before the checkered flag waved.
The Eyecon Trail Cameras #7 team will travel north for their second and final visit to Canada for a pair of events this weekend at Castrol Raceway in Edmonton, Alberta.
