Opening his weekend up on Friday night at Port Royal, Dewease timed his Lelands.com/Conduit Connections/Pasquirello’s Auto Shop No.27 in fourth fastest against the 39 cars in action.

Lining up sixth in his heat, the Fayetteville, PA driver was able to get around Mike Wagner, and Ryan Taylor to earn the fourth spot, and transfer into the feature event.

Starting sixth in the Dash, Dewease scored a fifth place finish putting his Pro Shocks/Wings Unlimited/Brown and Miller Racing Solutions entry in the third row for the feature event.

In the feature event, Dewease did not have the car he needed to move forward, as he searched around the speedway in hopes of making a run to the front. When the dust settled on the ‘Night Before Tuscarora 50’ Dewease settled for a seventh place finish.

Back in action on Saturday night for the Tuscarora 50, Dewease would time his entry in 15th fastest with 40 cars on hand for the 50-lap feature event.

Starting on the pole of his heat, Dewease would win the heat, and put his entry in the third row for the second time is as many nights.

When the race went green, Dewease was able to maneuver around the speedway and get as high as the third spot during the first 25-lap segment.

Running in fourth, on the 21st lap, Dewease would slip back to fifth as a high-flying Brian Montieth was on the move.

Making adjustments at the halfway point, Dewease would restart and stay inside the top-five during the final 25 markers, and ultimately wound up finishing in the fifth spot, clinching his second career Eastern Region title.

Sunday night, Dewease and his team were at the Bridgeport Speedway for the Jason Leffler Tribute Race. Battling Rich Lafferty for all 25 laps, Dewease would close his weekend out with a seventh place finish.

“Overall it was a nice weekend for our Heffner Racing team,” he said. “We clinched one of the championships we were going after, and we were competitive all weekend.”
