Port Royal, PA — (October 7 – Due to an unplanned schedule conflict, Port Royal Speedway and the Juniata County Agricultural Society is canceling the October 19 racing program that was to be the final show of the season for 410 sprints along with super sportsman and a demolition derby.
Due to the rescheduling of the Fred Rahmer tribute race at Lincoln Speedway on October 19, Port Royal Speedway will honor Rahmer by affording all of those who wish to participate in the tribute to Rahmer on his special night the opportunity to do so.
All of this means that the big two-day Columbus Day holiday weekend Blue Collar Classic for the Keystone RaceSaver 305 sprint cars on October 11 and 12 will bring down the curtain on the 2013 Port Royal Speedway racing season.
The demolition derby slated for the October 19 program will be held on October 12.
Some 50 teams and drivers have now pre-registered for the October 11 and 12 Keystone RaceSaver 305 Sprint Challenge Blue Collar Classic at Port Royal Speedway.
Teams representing the states of New York, New Jersey, West Virginia, Virginia and North Carolina are on the registration list.
The interregional RaceSaver 305 sprint event at Port Royal will see the 305 sprints compete in a regular program on Friday night along with 358 limited late models, a pro stock/street stock challenge and an enduro dash.
The stock cars will race for $1,000, $600 and $200 to win respectively.
Friday’s 305 sprint winner will earn a guaranteed starting spot in Saturday’s feature race.
Saturday’s show offers a purse worth more than $10,000 for the RaceSaver 305s up for grabs in a 25-lap feature as well as in a 15-lap non-qualifiers event.
The 25-lap RaceSaver Blue Collar Classic main for 305s will pay $750 to win and $250 to start while the special non-qualifier’s champion will earn $200 for his victory.
Also on the Saturday card will be the super sportsman and an enduro dash paying $300 to win along with the demolition derby.
The sportsman will race in a regular program plus a special 10-lap, $1,000 to win finale for their 2013 heat race point series finale.
Adult general admission for both shows is JUST $12 with students ages 12 – 18 priced at JUST $5.
Friday action begins at 7 pm with Saturday racing slated for 5 pm.
Pit gates will open at 5 pm on Friday and 3 pm on Saturday.
