Recording the 10th fastest lap among the 55 cars that qualified on Thursday, Dollansky lined up inside two for heat five. Needing to finish top-two to earn a spot in the dash, the Aggressive Hydraulics Maxim closed the gap on Jac Haudenschild but ran out of laps finishing 3rd in the 8-lap event.
In the 30-lap A-Main the MobileStar backed entry took the green flag deep in the pack inside row ten. After working his way around Brent Marks for sixteenth by a lap 5 caution, Dollansky utilized the highside in turns 3 & 4 to motor past Daryn Pittman before another caution on lap 12. Following a caution two circuits later, the Elk River, Minnesota native continued to make forward progress cracking the top ten by the halfway point on lap 15. After the final yellow came with thirteen laps remaining, ‘The Crowd Pleaser’ charged into seventh on lap 25 and then battled David Gravel with two to go before running out of laps taking the checkered with a 7th place finish to conclude the 2013 season.
“After struggling with our car Friday night we got better for the feature on Saturday, unfortunately like Friday we were’t able to get in the top two in our heat to transfer to the dash so that had us starting in the back both nights,” explained Dollansky who finished the season 5th in the championship standings. “Getting to seventh from nineteenth was a decent finish. We got held up and blocked in a few times on restarts and during the race that cost us and left some spots on the table because of it.”
