GERMANTOWN, Tenn. (Feb. 24, 2014) – Although the season-opening event didn’t end as planned for Big Game Motorsports driver Sammy Swindell, his Big Game Treestands team made strides in learning what to improve.

Swindell is ranked 12th in the World of Outlaws STP Sprint Car Series championship standings after the three-race opening event in Florida earlier this month. The Big Game Treestands team placed 21st, ninth and 11th, respectively, at the 43rd annual UNOH DIRTcar Nationals Presented by Summit Racing Equipment at Volusia Speedway Park in Barberville, Fla.

“Being there all those nights you kinda learn about what you’ve got,” Swindell said. “Some of the things we went down there with we need to change. There’s a couple of things that are different from last year that we’ve got to change back around. We’re not far off. It’s about three or four little things we need to change.”

Swindell noted steering and shocks as areas of emphasis before the next World of Outlaws event – March 5-6 at The Dirt Track at Las Vegas in Las Vegas.

“We had some changes with the steering and probably need to change our shocks around a little bit,” he said. “We’ll just come back home and get those changes made and hopefully it will be positive. We’ve got a pretty good car. We’ve just got to get a little better with a full load of fuel and in traffic.”

Swindell recorded World of Outlaws victories at The Dirt Track at Las Vegas in 2000 and 2006.
