TULSA, Okla. (Feb. 24, 2014) – After a successful partnership last season, Blake Hahn and Old School Racin’ are hopping on the Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour full time in 2014.
“That’s the plan right now,” Hahn said. “We’re going to start it out and I’m pretty positive we’re going to go the whole year. We got our second car built this week.”
The team also picked up a new trailer during the offseason and has two engines to go with the two race-ready sprint cars for the grueling Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour campaign, which starts this Friday and Saturday at Cocopah Speedway in Somerton, Ariz., for Rounds 1 and 2 of the Cocopah Cup Challenge.
“The first time I went to Cocopah Speedway was last November,” he said. “It’s a little bigger track and we have a big-track motor now. Hopefully we can get a couple of top 10s and that’ll set off the year with us being in the top 10 in points.”
Hahn said his main goal is to stay in the top 10 in the championship standings throughout the year as he will compete for the Rookie of the Year Award.
“Our main goal is to run top 10 since it’s the first year,” he said. “A win would be great. I picked up two wins last year running regional stuff. I think running with all of them on the Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour will teach me a lot. We need to be consistent every night and every weekend.”
Hahn scored two ASCS regional wins last season and he finished with four top 10s in Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour competition en route to placing 14 th in the championship standings despite limited action.
The chase to record top 10s starts this weekend and fans can catch the action from Cocopah Speedway via live Pay-Per-View from RacinBoys. For more information, visit http://www.RacinBoys.com.
