Bolting in the 410ci power plant, and heading south Justyn Cox had a night filled with struggles while taking on the King of the West Series Saturday night in Tulare, CA.

“It was really a frustrating night,” Cox said. “Harley and Fez worked all night to get us going in the right direction, but we couldn’t seem to make anything work to get grip on the slick surface.”

Timing in 18th fastest, Cox missed the inversion, and lined up fifth in his heat race, where he would finish, and was forced to go through the B Main, for a final shot at transferring to the feature.

Lining up fourth in the B, Cox was able to get to the third spot, where he finished, and transferred to the 30-lap Main Event, though he was buried in the 10th row.

With the track continuing to slick off, Cox was poised to turn in a nice run from the back, but couldn’t seem to find grip like some others could.

Search around the speedway for moisture, Cox picked up a few positions, and ended his night with a 14th place finish.

“I really can’t put my finger on why we struggled,” he said. “It was not for a lack of effort, that is for sure. I have always been pretty good on the slick stuff, and tonight was just a very long night, but I have to thank Harley and Fez for their hard work.”
